the mystery box presented by Eka Meyer

1. What types of movies and TV shows does Abrams create?

Abrams creates mystery drama and action genre films, such as the TV show, Lost, the movie, Mission Impossible III., and the latest Star Wars movies.

2. What childhood experience inspired Abrams' love of mystery?

There are two experiences introduced.  The first, Abram’s grandfather brought and opened radios and telephones and all sorts of things up, show, and revealed Abrams inner workings.  Secondly, the grandfather took Abram to the magic store, Lau Tannen's Magic to have Abram see all the magic tricks. At the magic store, Abram bought the Tannen's Mystery Magic Box which he still keeps for nowadays.

3. How does Abrams describe the type of magic that he lives to use in his work?

My first answer as of 4 pm on 1/8 : (This one is difficult for me to answer.  At this moment, I think that)  Abrams describes that imagination is magic. He said that there's a thing of mystery in terms of imagination, the withholding of information will make people more expecting and exciting.

My edited answer as of 9 pm on 1/8: I think Abrams expresses that "mystery" is the magic to his work.  Abrams describes that the Tannen’s Mystery Magic Box, the big question mark on the box makes him sense infinite possibility, hope, potential, and mystery is the catalyst for imagination.  He also said that the thing of mystery in terms of imagination, a mystery which is the withholding of information will make people more expecting and exciting.

4. What is your favorite movie? Why?

Ever After, directed by Andy Tennant, and starred by Drew Barrymore, Angelica Huston, and Dougray Scott.
It borrows the Cindellera story to combine with more reality settings, popular people such as Leonardo Da Vince and the Grimm Brothers, and historical all together very well.   Visuals and arts are nicely done to reflect the renaissance era.  It has some actions.  In addition to all of them, it is a happy ending story with an independent girl and a prince in a learning process for his duty. :)
